How to use the Rows display option
The Rows display option allows you to neatly show data from your tables and control the width of each individual field on the screen. With recent changes, several new options have been added.
Grouping
Previously called “Group records by field”, this is now called Grouping. Wherein you can choose a field to group your records by. You can also add subgrouping, which allows you to break down your records into more detailed levels. For this, we do support up to 3 levels of grouping, allowing you to customize how you group the records.
Example: If you are managing tasks, you can first group them by Project, and then subgroup by Status (e.g., “In Progress,” “Completed”). This makes it easy to quickly see which tasks belong to each project and where they stand.
Header
In the Header section, you now have more customization options: Add a Title and a Subtitle to describe the page clearly. Toggle Breadcrumbs on or off depending on whether you want the breadcrumb path to be shown.
Add a Cover Photo to make the page more visually engaging or to give users context. Keep titles and cover photos simple so users can immediately understand what the page is for.
Actions
The Actions section allows you to control how users interact with records. You can enable drag-and-drop, which means you can move records around without having to update fields manually. But keep in mind that this is an option when records are grouped.
You can decide what happens when a record is clicked. If the page is connected to another table that has a view, you can set it to open that page.
In the Record Style section, you can also choose whether the record opens in a full page or in a side-drawer. This flexibility makes it easier to design the exact experience you want for users.
Navigation
The Navigation section lets you control how users access the page. Choose whether the page should be shown on the sidebar or whether it should be a hidden page.
If you want users to see the record count in the sidebar without opening the page, you can enable the Show record count option.
Troubleshooting for Rows Layout
Grouping and Subgrouping
Why do my records appear in the wrong group?
This happens when the chosen field has empty or inconsistent values. Fill in missing values or confirm the field type is consistent.
